I haven't done a Color Challenge in awhile. But since my kids are home thanks to the coronavirus, I needed an excuse for some introvert time. Plus, coloring these adorable hedgies was a nice distraction from the insanity of the world right now. Win-win. For the current Sketch and Color Challenges. I saw the Sketch and instantly thought of a wall with wainscoting. I obviously didn't plan for the height of the flowers, but I really didn't want to cut them off or go with something else, so I'll just have to put the card in a bigger envelope. Roll with it, right? I have to say, I'm not a big fan of these colors together, but I tried to make the best of it. This was not originally how my card looked. This was my attempt to salvage all that stamping. I'm not 100% thrilled with it overall, but I'm cranky, hungry, headachy, and it's hot in this craft room right now. So...tada! 😂 Products Used: MFT Flower Silhouettes Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages MFT Premium Dye Inks VersaFine Ink

I had ordered the correct shaped dies for this Sketch, but unfortunately they didn't ship in time. So, I had to improvise. No biggie. Still worked out. I'm still loving these new-to-me toads I picked up this week. Too cute! This week's card went just a little bit better than last week's. Well, at least I FEEL better about it, anyway! I keep coming back to these lovely florals again and again -- I just LOVE them! And the sentiment -- does it freak you out to cut them apart? It really felt wrong when I first started doing it, but now I'm kind of okay with it. It's really the easiest way of customizing the layout of a sentiment without driving yourself nuts with masking. This one really seemed to work out well for what I needed. I was inspired by the example cards on this challenge, which is kind of the direction I was thinking about heading anyways at some point. The MFT Design Team must have read my mind! When I spotted this gorgeous new floral set from MFT, I HAD TO HAVE IT!!! Sketchy flowers are my favorite! And the sketchiness of the sentiment works perfectly with the sketchiness of the flowers...ah. I'm in love! <3 I used a stamp mirroring technique Jennifer McGuire used in this video , which I found super helpful. I stink at trying to arrange flowers! Made it so much easier! I decided to finish it off with just a touch of gold heat embossing. I really like the way it turned out. This card did not turn out the way I had envisioned, neither did the time making it. I went back to my craft room with good intentions of relaxing and creating. As soon as I started, all heck broke loose (why does that always seem to happen when Mom leaves?!). One child accidentally landed in the middle of my sleeping cat, who proceeded to rip him to bloody pieces. The other child has a terrible case of Man Cold and was wandering around the house like a zombie. The husband doesn't know how to doctor either of them and thinks I'm some sort of medical professional. They're all standing in my doorway, staring at me. One is wailing, one is moaning, and the big one is adorably lost. Sigh. Products Used: MFT Fringed Scallop Borders SSS Taco Party MFT Blueprints 27 VersaMark Ink WOW Embossing Powder

I love, love, LOVE this new Cross Die-namics from MFT! I didn't have a MFT poinsettia set, so I improvised and used an old Stitched Flower set. I do try really hard to use only MFT items on these challenges -- which is a challenge in itself. I stamped the cross with the Wood Plank Background using Hot Fudge ink. I then used the left over to make a matte for my panel. The sentiment is heat embossed onto vellum and then wrapped around my front panel. I really love how this card went together. I die cut the images and then stamped them. I stamped the background with the knit stitch background and the sentiment. I popped up the images on foam tape for dimension. I just love it! <3 Products Used: MFT Winter Warmth MFT Hand Lettered Holiday MFT Premium Dye Inks Copic Sketch Markers Double Sided Foam Squares Tombow Xtreme Adhesive

I really love it when I can hammer out two challenges in one card. =) I kept this one pretty simple. I die cut the squares and then die cut the snowflakes from the squares. I then die cut the snowflakes from glitter card stock and inlaid them into the squares. I taped them together and popped the whole panel together with foam tape. I then stamped little snowflakes from three different stamp sets with the same color of ink for a tone-on-tone look (although it's hard to see in the image). I stamped out the sentiment from yet another stamp set and popped it up on foam tape. Fairly pleased with the way this card turned out. The colors were very vibrant, so I opted for small images on a mostly white card. Took me awhile to stamp out, but it was worth it. After making (and remaking) so many cards this weekend, I opted to make things easier on myself and combine the two challenges together.
